The mail can be so nice sometimes. Another wonderful art surprise this week with notice that my Drying Cutlery will be a finalist piece in the Borough of Queenscliffe’s 150th Anniversary Art Awards. There are three galleries displaying finalists and mine will be displayed at Tussock Upstairs.

This piece came about when I was on a retreat (from the pain ritual) in Hepburn Springs. After my tutorials with Jeff Makin I wanted to continue the simplicity he taught me of finding ordinary objects to paint. So I took off without my usual planned accessories and found these (most reflective, shiny, not to mention perforated!) items on location!

Exhibition dates: May 4th – 19th.
Tussock Gallery: 89 Point Lonsdale Road, Point Lonsdale, 3225
