45 Years in Print – It’s the Australian Print Workshop’s birthday!

I’m thrilled to be one of 150 artists invited from across Australia to participate in Australian Print Workshop (APW)’s IMPRESSIONS exhibition.

This will be an incredible survey of contemporary Australian printmaking, and an opportunity for patrons to acquire works at a special price: $150 for miniprints (including mine) and $550 for larger prints.

Over decades of making art and endless invitations to participate in fundraisers and various support events, I have learned to be more selective and cautious, so I don’t devalue my work and, in the process, devalue art altogether. Artwork isn’t entertainment; it’s my career.

This exhibition and supportive event work to enhance the careers of Australian printmaking – I doubt APW will ever act in a way that devalues my work, like discounting artists’ works or worse still, setting up an eBay clearance store. Yep, that’s actually happening!

I’ve always loved APW. During the years I lived in Collingwood, I felt fortunate to be able to run up the street and seek out help and/or inspiration.

Andrew Gunnell printed my Gertrude Streetscape at APW after I was inspired to return to etching when I participated in a course and produced my Carousel at Hotel de Ville, Paris in the pristine workshop.

RUN to the opening!

The exhibition opens at 6 pm on Friday, November 6, 2026.
210 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, Victoria 3065, AUSTRALIA

I’ll include an image of my work in my newsletter and then publish it online with images of the exhibition.
